Mendlovo náměstí in Brno is located in the Staré Brno district and is named after Gregor Mendel, the founder of genetics, who served as abbot here. The square is dominated by the Starobrněnský klášter with its basilica, and the Starobrno brewery is also nearby. In the 1960s, the square underwent significant reconstruction, with historical buildings demolished and replaced by prefabricated panel buildings. Today, it is a modern space with tram connections.Wikipedia
