Mladějov is a picturesque village in the Jičín district with a rich history dating back to 1352. The dominant feature is the Classicist castle, visited by Emperor Joseph II in the 18th century and the place where railway builder F. J. Gerstner died. The village also features the Gothic church of St. Jiljí with a belfry and a Baroque rectory. Mladějov is known for its extensive deposit of glass sand, the largest in the Czech Republic, and high-quality sandstone used in the construction of significant buildings. Hiking and cycling trails leading to Prachovské skály, Trosky, and Jičín pass through the village.Wikipedia
