Kunčice nad Labem, located five kilometers south of Vrchlabí in the foothills of the Giant Mountains, boasts a long history. Presumably founded in the 13th century, the village, formerly also known as Pelßdorf, developed from a crossroads into a center for home weaving and later industry. Today, a modern lime works dominates the townscape, with limestone delivered by an impressive cable car. The municipality is characterized by its picturesque location on the Elbe River and the surrounding hilly landscape. The coat of arms commemorates a local legend about brave fur hunters and a slain bear.Wikipedia
