Chico is located in the Sacramento Valley in Northern California, approximately 90 miles north of Sacramento. The city is surrounded by mountains, including the Cascade Range and the Sierra Nevada, and is traversed by the Sacramento River. Founded in 1860, Chico benefits from agriculture, a significant university (California State University, Chico), and the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Particularly noteworthy is the large Bidwell Park, which occupies nearly 17% of the city’s area. Chico is considered bike-friendly and the Mediterranean climate provides ideal conditions for growing almonds, walnuts, and other fruits. Wikipedia
