Váté písky is a national natural monument in South Moravia, located in the Bzenecká doubrava area. This unique 94.56 hectare site is characterized by grassy sandy meadows and is home to rare plants such as sand couch grass, as well as endangered species of insects and reptiles. It was formed by a firebreak during the construction of the railway in 1840. The area may be affected in the future by the construction of the D55 highway, which will run nearby, but the approved design incorporating covering and ecological passages should protect the monument.Wikipedia
