The Šobes is a striking mountain spur in South Moravia, Czech Republic, within Podyjí National Park near the Austrian border. Known for its south-facing vineyard – which historically produced fine wines, even for the imperial court – the Šobes also offers impressive views over the Thaya Valley. An old Roman trail leads across the ridge, while the Thaya River flows around the mountain on three sides. The unique location and soil create a microclimate ideal for viticulture, particularly Riesling and Ruländer.
