The Krušné hory are an extensive mountain range on the Czech-German border, known for their rich mining history – hence the names derived from the word “ore stone”. The mountains are characterized by varied terrain, with the highest peaks being Klínovec, Fichtelberg and Božídarský Špičák. Today, the Krušné hory offer opportunities for hiking and exploring nature, including peat bogs and mixed forests, but brown coal and lithium are still mined here. The history of copper, tin, silver and other raw material extraction is also significant.Wikipedia
