Březiněves, now a municipal quarter of Prague 8, has a rich history dating back to the 12th century. Originally a village formerly owned by church officials and private individuals, it was known as Břízova Ves. Over the centuries, ownership changed hands from the Knights of the Cross to noble families. Today, over 1750 people live here in 602 houses across 29 streets. Březiněves is a vibrant quarter with active associations, such as the fire department and fishing club, and its own flag and coat of arms granted in 2005.Wikipedia
