Brněnská přehrada is the largest water reservoir on the Svratka River, created between 1936-1940. Originally built as a drinking water supply, it is now a popular spot for recreation, water sports and hiking, surrounded by the Podkomorské lesy Nature Park. A notable story is that of dam keeper Šikula, who sabotaged German plans to destroy the dam during the war. The reservoir is easily accessible by public transport and also offers boat trips and cycle paths leading to Veveří Castle.Wikipedia
