Rožmberk is a large pond near Třeboň, the largest in the Czech Republic and worldwide. It was built between 1584-1590 and protects against floods by regulating the Lužnice River. The pond, covering an area of 647 hectares, has a volume of 6.3 million m³ of water and is home to many fish; a traditional fish harvest is held here annually, attracting thousands of visitors. Around the pond you can find the Renaissance Rožmberská bašta tower and stone bridges, which complement the historical character of the landscape. Wikipedia
